Phase two, placement scenarios

Additional information on the phase two placement scenarios

The phase two journey includes the following scenarios:

  • The broker uses a CDR-compliant placing platform and initiates the process of assembling the CDR. All carriers on that risk use the placing platform and are expected to fulfil their roles & responsibilities as per the PRR recommendations. The CDR submission into the Digital Gateway (IROS) is triggered in the ways explained in the PRR recommendations.

  • The broker uses a mixture of direct API and off-platform routes (to be defined) to communicate with the carriers on the risk and initiates the process of assembling the CDR. All carriers on the risk are expected to fulfil their roles & responsibilities as per the PRR recommendations. The CDR submission into the Digital Gateway (IROS) is triggered in the ways explained in the PRR recommendations.

When phase two is live, there are some scenarios that can occur, which would mean there is no complete and valid CDR in the Digital Gateway (IROS):

  • The placing platform used for the risk is not CDR-compliant, so CDR assembly and submission to the Digital Gateway (IROS) is not possible.

  • The placing platform used for the risk is CDR-compliant, but the broker chooses not to initiate the CDR assembly and submission process. This scenario is expected to be reported as an exception and followed up on as part of adoption monitoring.

  • The broker has initiated the assembly of the CDR; however, not all insurers on the risk are ready to fulfil their roles & responsibilities. This scenario is expected to be reported as an exception and followed up on as part of adoption monitoring.

  • The broker is placing a risk that is out of scope of, or otherwise not supported by, the CDR standard (e.g., a risk with delegation), so CDR assembly and submission to the Digital Gateway (IROS) is not possible.
